The department was founded in 2004 to provide emergency and emergency care to patients treated at the Clinic. The department is equipped with modern apparatus and equipment for anesthetic support of high-tech vascular care.
The Department of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care of the Clinic of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution ‘IEM’ provides treatment and intensive care in the following cases:
- consequences of craniocerebral and spinal injury at any time and in any condition of the patient;
- consequences of strokes and acute cerebrovascular accidents;
- consequences of brain hypoxia of any origin;
- encephalopathy of various origins, incl. and age-related changes in the functions of the central nervous system;
- auxiliary and symptomatic therapy for any patient with severe pain syndrome;
- treatment of ascites, hydrothorax;
- vegetative states, little consciousness;
- treatment of pain and alimentary disorders (low nutrition, cachexia) in all categories of patients.

Neuroresuscitation and rehabilitation of brain and spinal cord injuries, cardiac resuscitation
The department provides intensive care and early rehabilitation of patients with the following diagnoses: consequences of traumatic brain injury; consequences of acute cerebrovascular accident (stroke) of ischemic and hemorrhagic origin; vegetative state, appalic syndrome; small consciousness of various origins; consequences of spinal cord injury; consequences of hypoxia; speech and swallowing disorders, paresis, paralysis, age-related changes in the functions of the central nervous system (dyscirculatory, postischemic, hypertensive and other encephalopathies); violation of the functions of the central nervous system in combination with concomitant pathology of other organs and systems (cardiovascular pathology, diabetes mellitus, etc.).
Symptomatic therapy of patients with severe pain syndrome (ensuring mental comfort of patients; adequate pain relief in cancer patients; infection control; establishing an adequate nutrition for the patient; wound care; treatment of ascites by puncture and evacuation of ascitic fluid under ultrasound control, followed by training in care and catheter removal at home).
Field consultations (neurosurgeons, neurologists, anesthesiologists-resuscitators), treatment and assessment of the possibility of transporting patients to all regions of the Russian Federation.
Our specialists can go directly to the patient’s place of residence for making a diagnosis, performing surgery and starting some therapeutic measures, recommendations for further intensive care, determining the prognosis of damage to the central nervous system, assessing the likelihood of a patient coming out of a coma or a vegetative state. Our specialists will evaluate the possibility of transporting the patient to the place of treatment and recommend the safest and most convenient way to evacuate the patient during an on-site consultation.
