Diagnostics and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases
Nowadays, neurodegenerative diseases are one of the main causes of death in the elderly population. Given the constant increase in the proportion of elderly people in the population, the issue of timely diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases is vitally important. Moreover, this group of diseases tends to ‘get younger’ every year, so over the past 5 years the average age of the onset of Parkinson’s disease is not 65 years old, but 55 years old, but about 15% of patients are under 40 years old.
One of the scientific directions of the Clinic is the diagnosis and treatment of diseases associated with movement disorders (Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, dystonia and tics, essential and other types of tremor, movement disorders of a psychogenic nature), as well as the rehabilitation of patients suffering from these diseases.
Parkinson’s disease is characterized primarily by disorders of various types of movement.
At the same time, there is a whole complex of so-called non-motor symptoms in addition to movement disorders in Parkinson’s disease, which, together with movement disorders, significantly reduce the social adaptation of patients and worsen the quality of life.
In addition to Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders, the Clinic undergoes examination and treatment of patients with other neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease and various types of dementia.
